Your Global Situational Awareness Toolbox

Duty of care increasingly necessitates maintaining an accurate sense of your campus' international footprint and a correspondingly accurate global situational awareness. This session will broaden the perspective of international travel often overlooked and provide participants with a toolbox of resources to maintain a timely awareness of potentially rapidly evolving global situations. With this baseline you will learn tips for engaging travelers both before departure and once a potential problem is identified. This session will include a tabletop exercise to practice applying your new tools.

As a result of participating in this session:
 Attendees will be able to fully consider and determine a campus’ international footprint.
 Recognize different scopes of global situational awareness.
 Learn of at least three resources and how to engage them in creating global awareness and assessing evolving situations.
 Determine at least two ways to engage travelers in monitoring and assessing global awareness.
